We were really lucky and were able to go with our good friends the Jensens to Lake Powell again this year. We were there for one week, August 14 - 21st.
Here is the house boat we stayed on. There were four families including 9 adults, 13 children, and 2 dogs. It was really fun for the kids to have lots of friends to play with.
Jon took the kids fishing. Ethan and Tayler caught fish.
AJ jumping off the rock into the water.
Ethan was a brave soul and attempted the zip line. He was really nervous and I guess scared to actually fall in the water. Once he stopped moving he just hung there screaming. He wanted me to pull him back in. I felt bad for him but just told him to let go and fall in water. Eventually he had to let go but he hung on for dear life for quite a while. After he went I figured if a five year old could do it, then so could I. So I did and unfortunately had a good rope burn and bruise to show for it.
Here I am on the hot dog with Maryanne and Heidi. Good times.
I usually post pics of Jon wakeboarding...mostly because he never bothers to take pictures of me. So not sure who took this one but I thought I better post it.
Jocelyn playing in the rocks. One of the kids favorite activities was playing make believe on the rocks. They make up all kinds of games. They also liked going for hikes.
Jocelyn went tubbing!! She had no fear of the water and loved going tubbing with the big girls. Of course they went slower for Jocelyn. At one point it was a little too fast and they all fell in. I was afraid Jocelyn would be done for the rest of the trip. She actually thought it was fun to go in the water! I couldn't believe it.
Having fun fishing on the shore.
My little sis Tayler was able to come with us. She was so much fun to have around. She was a big help with Jocleyn and she had a blast!
So the second to last day was a little stormy...we had big waves and so much water that it started to flash flood.
Pretty cool rainbow on the lake after the storm.
On the last day AJ went wake boarding!! Jon was in the water with him and he did pretty well for his first time. He was able to get up and stay up for a second or two. I think he was pretty proud of himself. He also had fun knee boarding. Casey got Ethan to go knee boarding once with much protesting, but he wouldn't do it after that.

all these pictures are terrifying and amazing at the same time. I'm so nervous in water I can't believe how brave you all are and it looks so fun at the same time. I bet Tayler loved going with you. What great memories you are making for your kids!
It looks like SO much fun... I'm totally TOTALLY jealous!
