Raspberry Days at Bear Lake

We had a great time at Bear Lake over the weekend. Kellie and Travis family was there for a Willey family event but they slept at the Bentley cabin so we were able to be with them too.Friday night we went down to the booths that are set up for Raspberry days. Unfortunately we got there too late and they were all closing down.

Since the booths were closed we walked over to Cafe Sabor and played in the nearby grass area. The kids had fun climbing trees.

So probably the most interesting event I do not have a picture for. Kellie and Travis had taken the boat on Friday to go boating with the Willey family. Travis brought it back Friday night and Dad insisted that he park it in this certain area...instead of the garage where it usually is. Well he did and Dad did not place the blocks behind the wheels and then proceeded to unhitch the boat. The boat began moving and Dad tried to hold onto it unsuccessfully. The boat continued to roll down about 50 yards or so. This is when Nate noticed the boat moving while we were all inside the cabin. He alerted the rest of us and we couldn't believe what had happened. So many really bad things could've happened. The boat could easily have rolled down the steep hill....or crashed into propane tanks or other nearby cabins. We were really lucky that it turned out to only be a funny story. We hitched up the truck and pulled it back. The other funny story was that the "cable guy" was over fixing the satellite. Well Evette was in a crazy mood and kept dancing all over the place. I was out on the deck with her when she started doing her "gorilla" dance which is really just a lot of booty shaking. Well the deck is quite long and the cable guy was walking up it getting a pretty good show the entire time. He walked past her and she was so embarrassed! I was laughing hysterically. For some reason she went into the cabin to relieve her laughter and embarrassment. Since the cable guy was inside he just said "are you embarrassed?"....Evette was again mortified that he was there again so she had to escape to the outside where we were all laughing!

After boating we spent some time at the beach. Jon and the kids made a really cool sand castle.

We had so much fun at the Rodeo. All three of our kids participated in the cash scramble. A ribbon was tied onto a calf and all the kids ran after it. This rodeo started out with a bang. Bull riding was the first event. About the first 3 riders all got injuries after being bucked off and stomped on or rammed...you name it. It was so intense...it made me think it was a bunch of cute cowboys riding bulls for the first time and not really knowing what they were in for.
