So here is a final update for Jocelyn. Over the weekend and throughout this week she has gotten significantly better. She has a little runny nose and coughs once in a while. Since she was doing so well and fighted the oxygen so much we stopped giving it to her. The doctor still wanted to check up on her so they had us do an over night oxygen level test. We connected an O2 monitor to her finger and it read her heart rate and oxygen levels. It stayed on for three hours during the night. They then down loaded the information to a computer. This was Tuesday night. A nurse called us on Wednesday saying that her O2 level got down to 37% (90 or above is normal) and her heart beat got down to 22 beats per minute. Well we thought that those numbers had to be wrong and that the monitor had slipped off her finger or wasn't positioned right. The nurse insisted that she was right. We disagreed. Then the doctor called and said he wanted her on oxygen again Wednesday night and to have the monitor again on her. So after a lot of crying from Jocelyn (she really dislikes the whole ordeal by now) we set her up on the oxygen machine and we attached the monitor to her toe this time. We watched her O2 levels until we went to bed. They were great (94 to 97%). We even turned off her oxygen for an hour to see if there was a change. (There was not). So I took her into the doctor again on Thursday. This time we got to see our normal doctor and not the PA. I really like our doctor and I am so glad we got to see him (and not the PA). He had the info from the oxygen monitor and said that the numbers looked good all night. He said that she no longer needed oxygen. YEAH!! He agreed that the numbers from the night before were incorrect. She have a fever yesterday but after some meds it came down. The doctor also said that her lungs sounded clear and she just had a runny nose. So I was very stressed on Wednesday and very happy on Thursday. It's been quite the ordeal but our little Jocelyn is better!
